What are crucial challenges to law, politics and peace at sea?
How do we conceive of responsibility on/for the ocean?
(Why) Does it matter how we understand freedom, sovereignty & common heritage at sea?

Togehter with Nele Matz-Lück (University of Kiel), Andreas Pawlas (University of Tartu) and Gordon Wilmsmeiser (KLU Hamburg), I was part of the final panel that closed this year's #Albert-Ballin-Forum on the timely topic of "War and Peace at Sea".

Looking back at the #Albert-Ballin-Forum 2026 means looking back at two intensive days of discussing diverse perspectives on #peace and #war at #sea.
I take many insights, thoughts and new questions with me.
Thanks go to the organisers and all participants who made this event possible.
