CROPS4LIFE develops ALEKO, a digital platform to commercialise food products with enhanced environmental traceability and Planet-score®-aligned labelling, promoting local consumption and highlighting the climate benefits of implementing regenerative agriculture practices. What are we eating and how does it impact the planet? The CROPS4LIFE project and the eco-labelling challenge in Vitoria-Gasteiz Current food systems lack supply-chain transparency, leaving consumers unaware of the environmental footprint of their food choices. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, local production accounts for only 1.5% of fresh food consumption, driving high transport emissions and territorial disconnect. To address this deficit, the European Union (EU) co-funded CROPS4LIFE project integrates soil science, policy design, and digital infrastructure to promote territorial food resilience. Essentially, the ALEKO platform connects regional producers with local buyers to achieve a 10% increase in local fresh food consumption. Beyond connecting producers with the market, ALEKO translates complex environmental metrics into accessible eco-labels, such as the Planet-score®, based on the Planetary Boundaries. Αποχαιρετούμε με θλίψη τον σύντροφο Αλέκο Καλύβη. Υπήρξε κεντρική μορφή του εργατικού κινήματος, με συνεπή παρουσία για περισσότερες από τέσσερις δεκαετίες στους αγώνες των εργαζομένων ιδιαίτερα στον χώρο των τραπεζών. Βρέθηκε στην πρώτη γραμμή των μεγάλων αντιμνημονιακών αγώνων, απέναντι στις ιδιωτικοποιήσεις, την αναδιάρθρωση των εργασιακών σχέσεων, την διάλυση της κοινωνικής ασφάλισης και στην νεοφιλελεύθερη επίθεση στις συλλογικές κατακτήσεις, του κόσμου της εργασίας και της νεολαίας. Ο σύντροφος Καλύβης ξεχώριζε για την ηπιότητα, την ευγένεια, την ενωτική οπτική. Έτσι πορεύτηκε στην συνδικαλιστική και πολιτική του διαδρομή, φτιάχνοντας στέρεους συντροφικούς δεσμούς παρά τις διαφορετικές πολιτικές εκτιμήσεις για τη συγκυρία, με προσήλωση να κρατηθεί ζωντανή η σπίθα του αγώνα και της Ριζοσπαστικής Αριστεράς. Εμπνεόμενοι από τον σύντροφο Αλέκο θα συνεχίσουμε τον αγώνα για το κοινωνικά αναγκαίο απέναντι στη λογική μικρότερου κακού, θα συνεχίζουμε τον αγώνα μαζί με τη νεολαία, τις μετανάστριες, τις εργαζόμενες, τα πιο φτωχά μέλη της κοινωνίας, θα συνεχίζουμε με έστω λίγη από την ποιότητα που πρόσθετε στην λέξη σύντροφος! Θέρμα συλλυπητήρια στους οικείους και στους/ις συντρόφους/ισσες του Αριστερού Ρεύματος.
