The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 targeted immigrants and silenced dissent. Though repealed or expired, their spirit lived on in Chinese Exclusion, Red Scare deportations, Japanese internment, and post-9/11 bans. Each misuse shows why we must abolish such xenophobic laws once and for all. #Pinks
