Warriors of Might and Magic (PS1) (2000)

1/5
After Crusaders of Might and Magic didn't quite meet the sales expectations, the developers shifted its sequel to a new protagonist and new ideas, making it its own thing with a new protagonist, the disgraced captain of the guard, Alleron, a handsome muscly man with long blonde hair, wrongfully accused for practicing necromancy and now stuck with the Mask of the Accused, a hellish living thing that sticks to its victim and sinks its claws into their neck, making Alleron look like a bare-chested heavy metal dude with a Batman mask. He's thrown into the depths of the dungeons below the castle, giving him the chance to redeem himself if he manages to survive, though his chances are slim. Alleron finds a small buckler and a sword and sets off in his poppy brown pants to hack and slash his way through dungeons, caves and castles, fighting ruthless monsters like these little green bug-like creatures with brown shells (or perhaps wings) called Grubs, being sliced and diced by He-Man over here. Blue teleporter pads will sometimes transport Alleron to an ancient temple holding an artifact that gives him the power to cast spells, filled here with the Horrid, aptly named sea-monsters with sad faces and sharp teeth, walking around with their curvy hands with long blades on their ends, ideally shaped to play a game of Discs of TRON. Alleron, having found a hot black leather gimp suit to match his mask, runs across a rock bridge over a lava pit, leading to an altar with four pillars, white skulls embedded on top, two snakey guys and a red knight called the Warlord, the boss of this fiery pit. A boss fight with the Twice Born, a huge green undead skeleton warrior with a Viking helmet, some ragged armor, shield and axe, followed by two smaller copies of himself in a cathedral-like chamber while Alleron swings his magic sword to some small effect. It's kinda interesting to note that the developers reused a couple of enemy models from their previous game, Crusaders of Might and Magic, like the twice born skeletons you encounter very early on in that game.

2/5
An encounter with the fish-like Horrid in an icy cavern, very fitting for some kind of Lovecraftian horror story, but Alleron doesn't have time for that, his blade is faster than any creepy crawly monster. Alleron finds the icy cave of Filthan, the undead dragon that kinda looks more like a rocky skeleton rhinoceros, spiky horn and all, flooded with the ominous reddish-pink color of its frozen chamber, showing a large green circle around the behemoth as Alleron toggles his focus on enemy option, making the camera follow his opponent as well as the color showing its health status. Alleron enters a cave with a prancing burly Minotaur called an Urgar Executioner, with a human face, sporting a goatee and long white horns, doing a little dance while holding a big double axe. Alleron showing off his magical skills as he shoots three curling beams of electricity at a floating green orb with an unsettlingly big eye and two muscly arms called an Evil Eye, and that it certainly is.

5/5
An ancient temple chamber with a big green force field blocking the way out as a few bronze armored automatons appear, hulking brown armors looking like they have little mustache on their pouty faces. A new variant of the Grubs, now blue with purple shells on their backs, attacking Alleron in a castle area with stone walls full of ornaments and sculptures as he blasts an arching electric beam from his magic hammer. That Cleric wasn't lying when he talked about a dragon as Alleron finally meets Talinthraxus, a nasty, wingless dragon that looks more like a dinosaur or Godzilla with a long neck, with lots of spikes on his body as well as spiky ears and long teeth on his almost smiling jaw, walking around a dark gray pit filled with his footprints and the blood of his victims as Alleron runs around in panic because a freakin' dragon is chasing after him. After all that dragon blood drinking business, Alleron finally manages to take off his living mask and faces the evil that he was prophesied to destroy, the forsaken god Daglathor, a slender, tall, gray, naked imp-like creature with long ears and an even longer tail, slowly approaching our hero as he's trying to power up his sparkly red Hammer of One Thing or Another and put and end to this madness!

Oooo great question for #SongsOfSeptember!

Well, there's one story that's a far off WIP (for now). It's called Rhythms of Starlight.

I always envision All Night Forever by TWRP as the overarching theme song, especially for Luma and Alleron.

#SongsOfSeptember Day 2

What's a song you heavily associate with your story? It could be for the plot, the main character, the main conflict--just one you feel fits it well~

I'll add the full month list below if you want to make sure you don't use a song you want to save for later!
A card showing today's prompt. It has a rose on a music sheet in the background with a lilac hue, and a gray box in the middle shows the prompt. The title's at the top, and there are song lyrics at the bottom. #SongsOfSeptember Day 2 What's a song you heavily associate with your story? “I am a question to the world, not an answer to be heard, or a moment that’s held in your arms.” (Lyrics from I'm Still Here by John Rzeznik for the movie Treasure Planet)

Alleron builds model spaceships. His quarters walls are covered in them. He has gravity shelves that keep things stable. If there's turbulence, they don't get disturbed or broken.

His half brother, Hamlin, loves to paint. He's decorated most of the ship with his art.

Warriors of Might and Magic (PS1) (2000)

3/5
Most of the levels are designed around the loop of entering a chamber filled with enemies and rune covered obelisks that infinitely spawn them while a colored force field prevents you from moving on, so you need to destroy them all and then also hit the floating crystal, a green one in this instance, that appears in the air, smashing it into a hundred little triangles as they splash and disable the force field. The game also has a simple leveling system of accumulating XP by killing enemies, making Alleron float in the air like the Highlander, feeling the Quickening as bolts of electricity shoot from his arms and the message "You just gained level 4. You gained 10 health, 15 mana." shows up on screen. Alleron puts on some leather armor that's very heavy metal and visits the Clerics of Enroth at their temple because a little raven called Carlin (seen here just moping around on the right of the screen) told him that they might have a solution for his problem. He's greeted by Saylo, the leader of the Clerics, a balding bearded man with long hair and a very big forehead, looking quite a lot like a Klingon, though without all the ridges. He says:"A dragon Alleron, but worry not. There is a dragon nearby. Take its blood once you are [strong enough]". Gotta get strong and drink some dragon blood, no big deal. Saylo's young assistant, Daria, a goth lady with long black hair, wearing a black corset and long black gloves, standing in front of an ornate stone wall and a red force field, saying:"So enjoy what little time you have left, Alleron." Wait, you don't think she might be evil, do you? 👀

4/5
Alleron exploring the vast chambers of an old castle with his sinewy, almost plastic looking muscles as he throws a lightning bold from his axe into a group of Death Knights, armored warriors with big swords, easily conductive as the electricity later spreads to all of them. A big dark hall with tall stone pillars is the resting place of the Gorgon, a slithery snakey creature with long thin horns bent backwards, casting a freezing spell at Alleron, making him immobile with a splash of blue waves and particles, making him an easy target. Alleron in his leather armor, being swarmed by ghosts of hot brunette babes as they smack him around and squishing their boobs on him, oh whatever will the poor hero do! Well, for one thing, he kinda just stands there, taking his time to wave around his magic hammer with pink sparkly sparks, there's no need to get rid of these ghosts just yet, right? Also worth noting the 3D models for the ghosts are also taken from Crusaders of Might and Magic as the girl in the green shirt, pants and brown apron was a shopkeep NPC in that game. Some kind of steam engine room with tubes covered in a bronze chainlink fence with fumes traveling through them as a couple of pale dog-like creatures with four legs, long necks and a faceless head with a big, toothless maw attacks our hero as he swings his sparkly weapon at them.

#LGBTQWriteAThon, I like to think that Alleron and Luma have a shared favorite song (aside from separate faves).

All Night Forever just captures their love so well. I also listened to this song a lot while thinking about their story. Have an anime intro in mind, too

#QueerPrompts, well, depends on the character. Alleron is something of a gray character. He is a pirate captain and has a lot of people to look after. He's already powerful and wealthy.

However, he would always choose the second option if he had to.

#QueerPrompts, Alleron certainly is. He is part void siren, so he tends to attract the attentions of others easily enough. And usually, he's not really interested.

That doesn't mean he hasn't been in some significant relationships. But, they didn't really work out in the end.

In a WIP series of mine, Alleron is the commander of The Red Nexus, a group of space pirates. He is a morally gray, but generally steals from the rich.

However, the violent pasts of his father and grandfather follow him. He and his crew are greatly feared because of the things they had done.
