Was für ein Abendhimmel über Norwegen. 🌅

Dunkle Berge, spiegelndes Wasser und darüber ein Feuerwerk aus Orange, Rosa und Blau.

Einer dieser Momente, die man einfach nur genießen möchte. 🇳🇴 #Norwegen #Fjord #Altafjord

But X-7 (📸 own) was sunk after laying its charge, with Lionel Whittam and Bill Whitley killed.🕯️

Only once the news of PQ 17s dispersal was intercepted did Admiral Reader send out Tirpitz, along with two cruisers and 6 destroyers. However, it was soon apparent that they would not be needed. The force was recalled at 9:30pm on 5th July.

By this logic, sinking the Tirpitz was wrong because it had fucked off to Altafjord and was populated with Kriegsmarine conscripts.
Have you forgotten the Belgrano?

It was sailing away. A war for Thatcher from people who volunteered to fight wars.

No one was conscripted on the British side - unlike the Argentinians. 650 Argentinian and 255 British dead.

No winners. Except Thatcher.

And then move on to the fact the Tirpitz hid behind miles of screens and defenses in Altafjord, only to pop out and sink some unarmed convoys going to Murmansk.

But whin because your Ak-ak wasn't up to scratch against the Avro Lancaster.

The X-20 class was very similar to the earlier X-5 class. The X-5 class (📸 IWM A 21701) was the batch of subs (X-5 to X-10) that took part in Operation Source, the attack on the Tirpitz (📸 IWM A19625) and other German ships, in September 1943.
