St Nonna’s Church, #Altarnun, #Cornwall

A pre-reformation, possibly #medieval (about 500 years old) stained glass window.

Maybe St Nonna or St John the Evangelist (at the time of the crucifixion).

What a stunner! The Norman font in St Nonna’s Altarnun #Cornwall #FontsOnFriday Those faces are intriguing. They have a look of Easter Island sculptures or is that my fanciful imagination ?

Apart from the obvious advantages of not posting on "the other place", I can re-use previously posted #StandingStoneSunday pictures. This #BronzeAge stone circle is The Nine Stones at Altarnun on Bodmin moor. I'm assured it isn't always standing in water. Pics from 2018 and 2023.

There are some wonderful carved bench ends at St Nonnas’s Church, Altarnun, but look up and there’s a 15th century waggon roof with carved bosses. Restored and very impressive.

Thank you Paul!

“Fabulous presentation last night in Altarnun. Really captivating and informative. Brought the era to life. Super. Thank you. This is the second time I have heard this speaker talk. Both times were outstanding!!

The 15th Century packhorse bridge in the charming village of Altarnun in Bodmin Moor. I always recommend an explore around the moors to any visitors to Cornwall as a change to the beaches, so much to see in a stunning, ancient, almost untouched landscape!
