In this case I don’t actually blame the council. Mackenzie district has around 5.5k ppl which isn’t enough to support the numbers of tourists. This is where amalgamation of councils makes sense long term but is where government funding needs to come in to support now

I get the feeling that Meta tried SO HARD to make this mascot thing the cuddliest lil’ guy ever but all I see is an unholy amalgamation of the Snuggle fabric softener teddy bear & the Adipose Babies from Doctor Who. Its an echo of both but not either, and feels viscerally WRONG

If you say "The economy is far better than 2008" people do not parse that as an objective claim to be assessed. They see it as you announcing your support for the powers-that-be -- some unholy amalgamation of centrist Democrats and now, the Trump administration as well.

Sadly in Australia, when palaeo people retire or the department is downsized it is usually palaeo people who are not replaced or that area is reduced to a rump doing undergraduate teaching only, often just as lip service to geoscience in an amalgamation of things.

If I was running for mayor of Ottawa, I would propose a referendum: status quo or de-amalgamation.

In the same way AI can morph images into each other, it seems Hollywood now uses an automated script-morphing tool that just blends together themes from different movies. Shang-Chi felt like an amalgamation of Avatar, Zelda, Raya ATLD, and I can't pin the soul-feeding thing.
