Aha, yeah, Metal Mutant is one of my favourite 'French Touch' games as its categorised in Amigavision.

With the new version of AmigaVision in the works that supports OCS/ECS machines, I had to take it for a test drive. Virtually all games, demos, and who knows what else in one image? Yep! Let's see how it behaves on the A500!

Some AmigaVision OCS/ECS testing in the wild! Lovely setup, @riksrandomretro.com
A quick test on my TF accelerated A500 and it runs great. Another awesome option for an all in one solution for even more Amigas!

I know this is developed in Europe, but I'd love to see a NTSC variant of Amigavision for the A500.

Ya know weird thing?

I only really heard of the Amiga at the late 90s at the earliest. Never saw an Amiga or Amiga software in the wild and im not sure how it git past me.

That said Amigavision has been great for checking out what I missed.

Also you're welcome/sorry? :p

How'd ya like about 3000 games?

#Kharnerecommends AmigaVision a pre-configured collection of Amiga games and demoscene demos, easily set up on PC using amiberry, with a browser to search and launch it all.

It's all the Amiga you could want in an easy works-out-the-box package.

90% of the Amiga scene is running SysInfo 😆

Will get you an OCS/ECS version of AmigaVision that works on Amiga 500/600/2000/3000 soon. Did you upgrade the Kickstart ROM, or shill running the original 1.x versions?

Aww, glad it's caught your interest! And yeah, I would recommend the Amiga version for having some presentation flair with ambient music.

Easiest way to get up and running would be to use Amigavison and Amiberry.

The AmigaVision filter whisperer is at it again! Enjoy this classic 1994 demo scene production from Andromeda recorded using AmigaVision on MiSTer by the great @walrusfpga.bsky.social — Amiga demos have never looked better on a modern display! Run it at 50hz native rate if you can:

And if you want to see it in action, either load it up on AmigaVision, or check out this video from @walrusfpga.bsky.social!

So, this is VERY much @sharkabytes.bsky.social fault. but if you wanna poke at a LOT of Amiga games? I poked at this a bit and it;s VERY easy to set up with an emulator in PC, just install Amiberry, shove a folder in the right place and you're all set.

Seeing in Amigavision...

Giving another shoutout for anyone interesting in delving into the Commodore Amiga world to try Amigavision. Not just for games, but also for selections of demoscene prods and diskmags.

That AV itself an Amiga-native diskmag-alike launcher is just a cherry on the top.

I've used it alongside our Amiga 600 and my own old Winuae setup for a few months now with the Amiberry install, and now most recently on our MiSTer, and yeah, it's pretty special stuff.

Ahh, I haven't! I think Amigavision was spun off from it as I've seen that called MegaAGS? I'll give it a try, cheers.
September 21, 2026 at 11:37 AM
@amiga.vision Oh wow, this is so much better than other Amiga packages I've tried on my rpi5. I do have a question, I use a usb soundcard for audio output. I can see Amigavision detects it as when I unplug it/plug it in, I get a message. I assume that default is sending to HDMI. How do I switch?

Have you tried Amiga Game Selector? It has a lot of scene demos too, as well as a pretty full set of disk mags. I have both AmigaVision and AGS on my FS-UAE setup and I tend to flit between them www.amigagameselector.co.uk

The AmigaVision menu looks great on a real Commodore CRT! One of the prettiest variants of it too.

Looks like MVG is using AmigaVision on his real hardware, I remember him being in the chat when we had the AmigaBill livestream about it 🎉 — it’s a great video, check it out:

I stayed up too late updating mister stuff, trying some new MSU stuff, Cario Loopy core and Z486 core and breaking the amigavision in my amiga core and losing my save for Metal Mutant but thats ok cause I want to play that from beginning again anyway since it's been so long since part 1

Recorded another #Amiga Demo Scene video on #MiSTerFPGA today- this one using the special 16x9 scaling in AmigaVision for the demo Rule 30 by Andromeda:

Also got AmigaVision working on the Rotate.
I basically just copied the hdf file for AmigaVision into the "amiga" directory of Cocoon, right along side the adf floppy images. AmigaVision is just an entry in the Amiga games folder, but it launches AmigaVision with the full WHDload library.
