This week on our narrowboat adventure, we continue our journey from the peaceful moorings at Bramble Cuttings. We never planned to stop here, but with room for just three boats and access only by water, it turned out to be one of our favourite unexpected moorings. Surrounded by nature, we make the most of the shady picnic area, perfect for escaping the summer sun, while Luna enjoys some off-lead time when no one else is around. Each morning begins with an incredible dawn chorus, reminding us why we love life on the UK canals. As a nearby farmer ploughs the field opposite, the skies fill with birds of prey hunting over the freshly turned earth. We spot majestic red kites, and after capturing some great photos of a mystery bird, we discover it's actually a buzzard! After two wonderfully relaxing days, we untie the ropes and continue cruising towards Anderton. Along the way, we pass through the beautiful flashes near Broken Cross, where the canal feels more like a nature reserve than a na

Join us as we cast off from our Middlewich mooring at 7pm after enjoying two days of glorious hot weather. Our evening cruise begins with a descent through the three Middlewich locks before stopping to top up the water tank. From there, we continue through the beautiful Cheshire countryside, passing the fascinating flashes—large lakes created by centuries of salt mining subsidence. With plans to cruise all the way to Anderton, we soon discover Bramble Cutting, a peaceful offside mooring that's simply too perfect to pass by. Come along for another relaxing evening on the canals, with stunning scenery, tranquil waters, and the simple pleasures of life afloat.
