UPDATE ALERT
we’ve added some new buds to our family!! We have red petunias, violet angelonias, and some cute succulents☺️ Despite the heat the cosmos’s and snap peas are growing great!! Lil pea is taking his time but definitely showing off🥹🫛🪻

Pulled Don Callis grass ✅
Planted some new marigolds ✅
Tied milkweeds back up ✅
Mulched the whole garden ✅

Make the blackberry stakes look nicer by building something better

Alright. Yesterday was 108 degrees. Today it's gonna be 89 and rainy. We've got double digit temps from here on out (🤞🙏).
Now.. To tackle these weeds! Because while #LeavesisPlants, not all plants are wanted.
Gonna rip out grass, ivy, and elm saplings (???) to give my plants some breathing room!

Went out to tend to my garden this morning. I have some weeding to do, as well as tying supports to my peppers and milkweed, and putting a border on the angelonias for support.
It's already 100 degrees at 8 am. 😭

Also crazy how the angelonias went *sprawling*. I never planted them before and had no idea what to expect. That one plant took over half of this garden!

Basil, Angelonias and Aloe were already inside the porch for the night and I'm pretty sure my Cthulhu Cactus summoned the storm to begin with. 🤣

I've put them all over the base or the milkweeds, angelonias, and blackberries just in case. But I've also helped them along farther up the stem. There's not as many aphids there right this second, but trust me, there's a feast in there.

While helping me repot them, my mother-in-law commented the angelonias look like tiny, screaming mouths and I haven't been able to unsee it.

Yeah, the first batch of plants I got were just "oooh! I want to grow this! Let's get it!" Starting at the end of February though (all the way up to today's cosmos and angelonias!), it was all heat resistant, drought tolerant plants.
