TIL Angenieux had a US HQ in NH?! (It was the seventies)
There will be three times as many cars at Greaserama today. Awards are at 6:00 and most of the cars will have rolled out for dinner by then. The warmup evening was the perfect time to experience Certified Good Light™️

Despite it being 99 degrees and a bit muggy in the KC Metro, day one of Greaserama featured some excellent cars and immaculate vibes.
Last year it was overcast. I’ll take Hell with Good Light any day.
I alternated between the Mandler 35mm f2 and the Angenieux retrofocus weird lens.

the angenieux lenses are just fuckin unreal. like there are no effects on this.

Just saying, if you want images that don't look they came out of a smartphone, vintage glass is a lot of fun. I was wandering with a Jupiter 3 50mm f1.5 with an Angenieux 35mm f2.5 in my bag in case I needed to go wide. The latter was an experiment that I don't regret.
NGL this was the best evening of street photography I have had in a while. I chatted with artists, visited a favorite gallery, watched a new graffiti mural being sprayed, shot some cool cars, shot fashion models, and witnessed 18th Street coming alive.
I highly recommend wandering with a camera.
