Okay, I'm cautiously optimistic... this seems like a functional step towards disrupting the Ur-company that is CrunchyRoll from being able to shut out streaming competitors via economies of scale. We'll see if it produces any notable alternatives.

Watched that Kun Gao interview just now and it's very interesting, with Kun being a good storyteller. Even the way he described AniBiz (which will let licensors give licensee Uber-style ratings, so as to hurt the less reliable people) makes it sound really cool.

But Kun's still a businessman.

Oh, that AniBiz site meant to help companies with anime licensing lists both the beloved 2005 Kanon TV anime by Kyoto Animation... and the generally ignored 2002 Kanon TV anime by Toei Animation

Kanon 2005 is still with Crunchyroll... but someone should try to license Kanon 2002 with AniBiz's help😏

So how does AniBiz differentiate between the two anime adaptations of Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken?

Easy, have the first anime use the more literal "Dai's Great Adventure" translation! Makes it easy!!
