#Antiretrovirals
What we would add here is that several papers have shown that various HIV antiretrovirals may have activity against SARS-CoV-2.

We hope to see more work in the future, both on preventing infection rates in people living with HIV and AIDS, as well as further elucidating the potential role of HIV antiretrovirals against COVID-19 and Long COVID.

Still, the idea of dumping him in the middle of a township with a sign round his neck saying ‘Hi, I’m Elon and I stopped your children being treated with antiretrovirals’ does have a certain attraction.

Most people who used Anktiva with or without bnAbs experienced typical viral rebound after stopping antiretrovirals, but a minority had longer remission. Studies at #AIDS2026 saw favorable changes in the viral reservoir & immune responses, suggesting it could help achieve a functional cure for HIV.
Anktiva May Help Shrink HIV Viral Reservoir
Study findings suggest the immune-modulating drug might play a role in a combination functional cure strategy.

I remember when they had to keep telling the normies that HIV can't be transferred via saliva or toilet seats, or other such bullshit. People thought it was weird that I trusted a gay guy who was positive to cut my hair. He's still alive. Thank god for modern antiretrovirals.

“These data provide valuable insights into the long-term durability and tolerability of these antiretrovirals, informing clinical decision-making for managing individuals with limited therapeutic options.” www.infectiousdiseaseadvisor.com/news/doluteg...
Long-Term Data Support Dolutegravir-, Fostemsavir-Based Regimens in MDR HIV-1
Twice-daily ART regimens containing either dolutegravir or fostemsavir maintain viral suppression through 96 weeks in adults with multidrug-resistant HIV-1.

MAHA before MAHA. His health minister, the odious Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, told us a garlic and lemon diet would treat AIDS better than literal antiretrovirals.

A study by Steven Deeks showed 7 of 10 HIV patients controlled the virus after stopping antiretrovirals, proving the immune system can be trained against HIV. Turning this into a practical treatment may take years and faces US funding cuts. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Scientists Are Learning How to Control HIV Without Drugs
Doctors have shown the immune system can be primed to keep the virus in check — a promising advance just as US funding cuts threaten future research.

About once every three years or so, my insurance determines that I no longer need antiretrovirals and I have to prove that I do indeed still have HIV.

What a story to wake up to. It's bad. It's really, really bad. People are getting high on meth and then injecting other people with their blood to "share" the high (it's called "bluetoothing"). Clean needles are hard to come by. Meth isn't. The population largely doesn't know about antiretrovirals.

Online Now: Current antiretrovirals, hyperglycemia, and type 2 diabetes in people with HIV #trends #endocrinology #metabolism
Current antiretrovirals, hyperglycemia, and type 2 diabetes in people with HIV
People with HIV (PWH) are now effectively treated with antiretroviral therapy, including integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs) and nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). In the context of the global obesity epidemic, cardiometabolic complications, including type 2 diabetes, are increasingly common in PWH. In this article, we address the potential diabetogenic role of some current antiretrovirals. Beyond classical risk factors, INSTIs could promote diabetes through weight gain and drug-specific effects. They can also, rarely, induce severe acute ketosis-prone hyperglycemia. Because INSTIs and some NRTIs could alter insulin and lipid levels, standard indices of insulin resistance may be unreliable. Diabetes management generally follows recommendations for the general population, with the use of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists and sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors to reduce glycated hemoglobin A1c, weight, and cardiometabolic risk.

Acid rain and ozone depletion are nonissues. AIDS has killed 44 million people, and while that is horrifying it is not "hundreds of millions." Better antiretrovirals continue to be developed and potential vaccines are being tested. There have been no widespread famines due to climate change.

Wait until you learn about “Continuum” magazine. It was an HIV denialist magazine. Everyone who worked there had HIV and refused to take antiretrovirals because they believed HIV didn’t cause AIDS. It shut down in 2000 after they all died of AIDS.

Yes. Having sero-converted in 2003 and being on antiretrovirals for 23 years has made my liver fatty and with that comes a host of other drugs.

Thankfully I'm still cycling acetaminophen and ibuprofen from the surgery. Waiting for antiretrovirals as we speak. I'll look into the Benadryl. Thanks!
September 14, 2026 at 4:41 PM
Oh no! Fingers crossed for a swift and smooth recovery. I know you know, but antiretrovirals, rest, fluids, cycle the acetaminophen and ibuprofen, and also allegedly diphenhydramine (Benadryl) can help (I haven't read recent research on that one, but... it's fairly known low risk OTC so.)

The gov’t has no right to GIL IP. Drug discovery and clinical trials cost 10’s millions. You also conveniently leave out that GIL gave up IP rights to antiretrovirals to the MPP and some generic companies to make them cheaper for low and middle income countries. Didn’t fit the narrative, I guess.

Disturbing to see the gaslighting here. Your problem is with for profit healthcare. Profits at Gilead from antiretrovirals drove drug discovery and clinical development for LEN. The molecule was discovered in GIL labs, by their scientists. The US gov’t had zero to do with its development.
