Long story short, I was introduced to christian apologetics in a 1st year philosophy class. I found every attempt at apologetics deeply unsatisfying and went looking for a better way to justify my faith.
I never found one.

Seeing Jesus as a liberatory figure has allowed me to 1. Avoid apologetics for the problematic aspects of the Bible and 2. Have healthier, less fear based faith that's more concerned with my fellow man than how many brownie points will get me to Heaven.
