setting aside who voted for it to begin with, this is what murray’s approps bill specifically prohibits.
The ICE budget is so astronomical you have to imagine they will keep inventing new ways to use it and the mission creep has only begun. The budget will create its own permanent constituency of overreach on its own. Thanks Dems.

Hey, I’m not going to argue with you all day here. A shutdown that causes a couple missed paychecks for ICE will further crater morale in an already extremely low morale situation. It also puts the focus on the fact that Republicans would rather kill you on the streets than support social programs.

again, the levers dems on the Hill have to pull are extremely limited thanks to reconciliation (and what levers they do have will involve voting for ICE/BP annual approps in exchange for getting legal restrictions in the approps bill, that's it, that's the play)
