HB 2530 would change the deadline to form a public facilities district for regional aquatics and sports facilities to 2028-07-01 (or remove it in some versions). Local officials from Olympia, Tumwater and partner jurisdictions urged the extension to allow time for collaboration and voter consideration; committee took testimony and closed the hearing.
