The most concrete disagreement concerned arbitration awards against Euroclear. Belgium wanted EU guarantees to kick in as soon as damages were awarded, potentially by an arbitration tribunal in Dubai, Hong Kong or elsewhere. Other governments and the Commission considered this unreasonable 6/

To be clear: Bryce Miller is NOT a free agent. He reverts to arbitration instead of being paid at the set team option level in the deal he and Seattle had signed.

Victor Robles however is a free agent, as he’s past arbitration.
The Seattle Mariners exercise closer Andres Munoz's $9 million option, but decline the options of starter Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles, making them free agents beginning Monday.

Someone gets a class action to a jury. Hard to do with all the mandatory arbitration provisions.

Given that numerous countries are advising against all but essential travel to Qatar, I'd imagine there'd be a very interesting Court of Arbitration for Sport case should someone get banned for Portimao and Valencia!

We need to prevent hockey teams from Nazi 🇷🇺Russia playing here in 🇨🇦Canada.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport can take a hike.
That is all.

Isaac Paredes was under team control for 2027 regardless of this decision. Paredes, according to @mlbtraderumors.bsky.social, was estimated to make $15 million in arbitration. This potentially saves the Astros some money
The Astros exercised Isaac Paredes’ $13.35 million club option.

I expect Jake Bauers to get a QO, Andrew Vaughn to get tendered (in expectation of Bauers signing elsewhere), and Contreras’s option to get declined and his salary resolved through arbitration, but we’ll see what happens. (Brewers 2-year arbitration deals are shams to avoid setting precedent).

🤡 The Court of Arbitration for Sport has overturned all five IIHF Council resolutions blocking Russian teams, ruling the IIHF must let them into relevant tournaments for the 2026/27 season with no appeal possible, starting with the World Junior Championship in Edmonton and Red Deer, Canada.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport orders Ice Hockey to readmit Russia.

It's incredible that illegal invasions & killing civilians wasn't allowed in 2022, but now no punishment.

But I think the fault is with Ice Hockey which extended the ban on safety grounds, not for war crimes.
