Merchant Taylors Hall & Almshouses, Aldwark, York. The. timber framed hall built 1413-15 replacing an earlier hall, smaller hall added later. Brick walls added in 18th century. Almshouses to the right.

54 Goodramgate, York was built in the mid 18th century by William Woodell, a cordwainer or shoe maker. The original carriageway is showing signs of subsidence. The gate has a brass sign for Waites and Moorey, architects and surveyors.

Ogee-headed door lintel and cat flap on a probable meal house at Plas Penmynydd. I had my lunch in a greenhouse formed from a pigsty attached to this building at the 2018 Vernacular Architecture Group conference on Anglesey.

The Hospitium, Museum Gardens, York now has a new embankment to protect it from the River Ouse. It may have been a guest house or warehouse. It now holds exhibitions & weddings.

I believe so. It's being converted into a perfume shop at the moment. I found some pics of the apparatus and did some sketches. I think the 'brake' & extra post are 17th century mods. It must have taken a while to lift it.
