Almost went with QNAP but at the last minute found out that Archiware P5 server wouldn't support snapshots with its drive formatting, can't say if they offered ZFS at the time.

Lastly for backups I recommend everyone do them. Early & often. I use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy my user data + an extra iCloud job which downloads then backs up all those carefully. I also use Time Machine and Backblaze. For my video prod clients I use Archiware P5 for LTO tape backups archives 😎
