Before her magic surfaced, Ombra was a Qunari poster child. Attentive, obedient, motivated. She was outgoing, loved playing with the other kids and also bossing them around; in their games, she'd often be the Ariqun. Her only flaw was impatience, nothing a few years of training couldn't fix.

The Triumvirate is the governing body of all of Qunari society.
They are three individuals that represent a perfect trinity, a whole that the three complete. Arishok the body, Arigena the mind, and Ariqun the soul 💀

People have insisted this divide was just cynical politicking

But like. The Ariqun and Arigena left Par Vollen specifically to give a speech denouncing the Arishok. That's, a pretty big deal. And assuming theyre just lying is weird

What I'm saying is. The Ariqun dies. The Arigena and Arishok (sten) in an unprecedented move, nominate a tal vashoth (bull)

The point is. Inquisitor Lavellan and Divine Victoria officiate the wedding of the Ariqun (bull) and the Black Divine (dorian). Scandalous. Sexy. Shocking.

“Salutations to the representatives of the Arigena and the Ariqun, your courtesy is sincerely appreciated in this most unsettled of circumstances.

And yet I am sure we may reach a mutually satisfactory arrangement regarding the Antaam defectors operating on Antivan soil.”

A long time ago, it used to be the Ariqun, the role model of every young Ben-Hassrath. Now, probably Zevran. The one who got away, earned the love of the Princess-Consort and Hero of Ferelden, and disappeared with her into the sunset.

"I was taught war. Fire. Don't know much else." The elf extends a hand, cupping Taash's cheek with ginger care, "I'll teach you." "Did you ever believe in the Qun?" Riven's gaze turns sorrowful, "At first. After I was freed. I did. I was a fucking zealot for it. Until I was made Ariqun, and I realized I could never love you out in the open. It was then that I began to doubt." Taash cups their small, tattooed hand where it rests on ashen cheek, "All this for me?" "All for you."

"What's wrong?" Riven looks up, eyes distant and sad. They sit up straddling Taash's waist, and gather the Adaari's hands in each of their own. Gingerly, the place the larger person's palms over the soft pouch of their inked belly. The snakes beneath Taash's palms seem to slither and dance in the pale light of the moons. "… we are the Arishok and Ariqun… Body and Soul of the Qunari," They state plainly, as though these words should make the source of their sorrow obvious. Swallowing thickly, Evataash nods their horned head. Strands of silvery hair catching in the moonlight; like a waterfall of that same light made corporal in silken tresses. They seem to shine in their beauteous glory; near divinity that leaves the elf breathless in wonder. The elf shakes their blonde head to rid themself of the distraction from the topic at hand. "The Qun demands that we give up our child." Their eyes flash ferocious in the dark. Their voice drops low and hushed as their thoughts race ahead into treasonous territory, "She will be raised by Tamassrans, away from us who made her. Who love her." Taash's body tenses, hands balling into fists over Riven's belly. They had been aware of that reality in a peripheral sense. But now the weight of the Qun's demands comes crashing down like a ton of bricks upon their shoulders. Jaw working hard, teeth grinding, they whisper, "I will destroy anything that ever tries to hurt you." The Ariqun's silver-black eyes are cast in steely shadows. Their grip tightens on the Arishok's thick wrists, "you will destroy the Qun?" "No," Taash wince away on instinct. Treason drips from their lover's lips like venom from a serpents fangs. They yank their wrists free of the elf's hands and gently push their mate out of their lap. They move to sit on fhe edge of the mattress, face pressed into their palms. Never have they questioned. Never have they erred from the path. But the thought of another raising their baby, the thought of their daughter being ripped from Riven's arms… it is enough to sending their perception of the Qun into kaleidoscope fractals. The Ariqun shuffles up behind them, winding arms possessively about their broad, battle scarred shoulders. The motion reopens the bite wound in Riven's shoulder. Blood drips fresh and hot onto the Arishok's flesh. A reminder of Taash's own sin. "How long have you been think'n like this?" Taash asks. "Since the moment I saw my Arishok," Riven replies. "And I knew I loved them."

Let's do a thought exercise: the Ariqun and Arigena disavow the Arishok's actions post DA-2, but let's be real: had he SUCCEEDED in occupying and converting Kirkwall, they'd have concluded the Qun willed it. They disavowed Dragon's Breath, but had the Viddasala succeeded, they'd have taken the W.

I think tamassaran is a word for a lot of 'smaller' roles, but comes down to care giver. Or at least that's how I understood it, a lot of the info on them was on the BW forums which is gone but the fandom page has the summaries dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Tamassran (bsky with the wild crop...)
Tamassran
Tamassrans ("Those Who Speak" in Qunlat) are a branch of the Qunari priesthood and as such fall under the Ariqun. This is a female gender role.[1] Tamassrans de facto rule the Qunari society.[2][3] Th...

Anaïs has the paternal Amell side dainty and slim build and has done nothing to change that. Morrigan looks more heavily built than her wife. Hawke is built very much like Anaïs, interestingly enough, but what little muscle there is is fast and strong. Eyry is both incredibly tall, towering head and shoulders over Morrigan in the picture, and more heavily built than even Taash, although the adaari is definitely the stronger of the two having actually trained her strength. Fi is short and stocky, and she's worked hard to build every ounce of strength she can afford.
