#Aromatase
Almost 3 years out from being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I'm living Life By Science.

A CDK4/6 inhibitor and an aromatase inhibitor, specifically. Thanks, meds!

Was thinking while reading this a.m., ran some intervals this afternoon, looking forward to dinner with a friend. All good!

Did I tell my mom about the blood test that can look for my specific tumor markers? No.

Because my oncologist and I agree it isn't worthwhile until I am getting ready to stop the aromatase inhibitors. If it was positive, we would keep what we are doing now until a tumor appears on my scan.
CW: cancer

But the real kicker was her, "I was reading and the kind of cancer you and I had. Well it gets into the bone marrow, hides for 20 years, and then comes out and is stage 4."

To which I was all, "Yeah, and that is why I am on aromatase inhibitors for 10 years."

Enough estradiol and your body will start producing more aromatase and convert your T into E for you, leaving only small doses of DHT, which you want some T anyway (ideally you want about 25 to match the lower end of cis women's levels)

O cara tem grana pra ser acompanhado pelos melhores médicos, mas resolve ficar injetando testosterona e bloqueador de estrogênio por conta própria e agora tá igual a paciente com defiência de aromatase.

Aromatase deficiency?
That's Elons posture all right.
Sounds like a nightmare condition.

Very interesting comment - I did not know about this and looked it up - thanks! pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...
AROMATASE DEFICIENCY
Studies on the phenotypes of women and men with mutations disrupting estrogen biosynthesis and action significantly advanced our knowledge of the physiologic roles of estrogen in humans. Aromatase def...

Saw elsewhere someone compare this to a man suffering from an Aromatase deficiency (estrogen deficiency) and I can’t unsee it.

Aromatization: An enzyme called aromatase changes testosterone into estradiol, which is the main form of estrogen. Estrogen makes boobies and is the first sign of sexual development in female sexual development.

"if he has been overusing drugs that inhibit aromatase without proper supervision for a long time, that would explain why he seems to have a similar body type to a man who had congenitally deficient aromatase" this isn't nonsense right? it makes sense to me

Oh my God, that's...wow, I can't believe that's real but I just googled it and sure enough, aromatase deficiency.

it gave me aromatase deficiency now i'm built like this

biohacker dudes who dont know what theyre doing (many of them) take aromatase inhibitors along with the excessive exogenous testosterone is the thing (which in turn gives them an estrogen deficiency)

My 81 year old mom had breast cancer this summer. Thankfully she’s doing well post-surgery, tolerating the aromatase inhibitor well. She made this banner for October. Younger me didn’t appreciate what a bad ass she would become in retirement.

Shape de deficiência em aromatase

the difference between elon and someone with aromatase deficiency from birth is that the latter guy can be screened and treated pretty easily these days (very low dose bioidentical e + routine blood tests), but there's no cure for what's wrong with elon (that i can discuss on this platform anyway)

testosterone is naturally converted into estrogen by a process called aromatization; the guy in the first two pictures has aromatase deficiency, and he's had it all his life. taking t tends to increase estrogen levels, not lower them, if anything

Shaped like someone left just a liiiittle bit on the "aromatase deficiency" slider after going nuts in the character creator.

i disagree; we've all seen how lack of estrogen twists up post-menopausal old women, there's a reason all the warnings about taking aromatase inhibitors mention joint pain

the deficient guy above was 27, elon is 55 and i have no reason to doubt he's been juicing irresponsibly for years
