Magnetic “superhighways” in the winds of the #Arp220 galaxy 🧲

They probably help to transport metals, dust and cosmic rays into the surrounding space 🌌

#IEEC researchers at @ice-csic.bsky.social and @icc-ub.bsky.social have participated in the research 🔝

Clever trick to cook stars like Christmas puds detected for first time
The missing ingredient for cooking up stars in the same way you might steam your Christmas pudding has been spotted for the first time by astronomers. Much like a pressure cooker has a weight on top o...

Polarized Dust Emission in Arp220: Magnetic Fields in the Core of an Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxy
Arp 220 is the prototypical Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxy (ULIRG), and one of the brightest objects in the extragalactic far-infrared sky. It is the result of a merger between two gas rich spiral gala...

Sadly the NS paywall meant I couldn't read the article, so your plans are unclear to me. Certainly would be good to work on dark sky stuff, and there's new stuff on Arp220 I'm up to as well! Where are you planning to move to?
