Are you or someone you know skipping GDC (or considering doing so) because of worries about coming to the US/San Francisco in the current environment?

If so, I want to hear from you for a piece. DM me here or kyle DOT orland AT arstechnica DOT com.

Please spread the word

Interesting. A lot of people defending Tim Cook against accusations of being a Trump bootlicker on ArsTechnica this morning 🤔

I knew they had The New Yorker, plus disparate lifestyle magazines, but surprised to see they also have ArsTechnica and Wired.

Hell yes!  Many of us have been following this story from the beginning, and I'm SO glad to see it resolved finally...

Fwiw arstechnica did a better write up of what he believes and it's more fucked up and more clearly based in eugenics

He says it's miasma theory but in classic RFK Jr. fashion he defines it wrong. It would actually be better if he believed in miasma theory than his actual beliefs imho

I stopped reading ArsTechnica entirely because of their uncritical reporting on SpaceX and Tesla.

seems to happen to every tech blog. lock in on something to the point where reality doesn’t matter because clicks are king. ArsTechnica became pretty unbearable with Gitlin’s obsessions.

I saw people during Covid act like anyone on the right deserved to die and it was evolution. Actually had a rather long argument over it on ArsTechnica because they thought anyone that didn't get vaccinated should be denied medical care.

ArsTechnica writers have a union and I have family working at Condé Nast. Condé Nast have an unlimited sick leave policy. Nobody forced them to pass off AI slop as reality.

@rcduke.bsky.social which arstechnica article is this?
I'm trying a new "see how well AI image gen is" test. This time I'm going to ask it to draw a map of the world, and then zoom in to Europe, the UK, Yorkshire and York to see when things start to get hazy.

All of these are with the free models using the smart/thinking variants. 1/n
