A fun PVD moment: last night, I got dinner on Hope Street with @mapcenter.com and was raving about one of my favorite websites, Art in Ruins.

A few minutes later, Art in Ruins' co-founder/operator, J. Hogue, walked by and I flagged him down to introduce him to Andrew. We all chatted for a bit.

Here in Providence we had this crazy round Gulf gas station from the 1960s and we were trying to get it preserved so the developer tore it down over a long weekend, paid the minimal fine and went on his merry way. I mean it was no White House but

It’s been taken. I got it for a costume party Hudson Furs (now Hudson Services), site of a famous heist in Providence, which used to sell off unclaimed furs in storage for super cheap. Not sure if they still do

ooh I'm right near there. As you probably know, this development is made possible by moving 195 further south (I-Way bridge artinruins.com/property/iway/) to open more of that sweet downtown real estate.
