Herodotus (Histories 4.59) names Artimpasa among the Scythian gods and equates her with Aphrodite Ourania, the Heavenly Aphrodite. Do we know where this piece was found?

Thanks anyway. Artimpasa is thinly documented: Herodotus gives us the name, and some scholars link her to the goddess imagery on Scythian gold plaques. We'll keep looking into where this piece was found.

Asked Artimpasa. Can confirm.

The tree pattern in particular is commonly associated with Artimpasa, the goddess the Enarei were devoted to

The full argument is laid out here; though clothed in whee-click-this-thumbnail youtube style, I find the core historical approach quite convincing

In Scythia (approximately where Urkraine is now) c. 600 BCE, there was a hereditary class of transfeminine fortune tellers of the cult of Artimpasa (Persian: Arti) known as ἐναρής (Eng: enaree or enarei), (from Persian for “not masculine”)

Scythian horse frontlet designed with the image of Argimpasa, the Scythian snake-legged goddess, goddess of fertility, warfare, vegitation, and mother of the scythian race.
She had transgender priestesses called Enaree.

very amused that my friend sent me a speech to text message that rendered Artimpasa as "art and pasta"

Bahuchara Mata may have similarities to Kybele/Cybele/Rhea/Agdistis. Artimpasa. Dionysus. The Japanese deity Inari. Atargatis/Semiramis also had eunuch priests. Inanna and Ishtar's priests too.

But the worship of Artimpasa and her gender variant clergy were strongly influenced by the West Asian cults of Astarte and Ishtar and their "eunuch" priests

This happened when the Scythians expanded into West Asia in the 7th century BCE
February 13, 2024 at 5:05 PM
Now, the cult of Artimpasa was indigenous to the Scythians

And the Anaryas likely originated as a shamanic priesthood who were believed to change their gender, not unlike the similar beliefs of indigenous Siberian peoples

So it wasn't all borrowed from West Asians

The accuracy of this account is hard to verify

Though the Anaryas were worshippers of the goddess Artimpasa

And Artimpasa herself had been influenced by the Levantine goddess Astarte and her Mesopotamian equivalent Ishtar
