I'm co-owner of a small art gallery. Artsts contact us daily. Our website says we "review each submission thoroughly and with care." Absolute bollocks. We delete 99% of the emails after glancing at them for less than a second because most of the art is unoriginal trash.

This is likely two-pronged strategy: firstly, to make AI look better by attributing to it the much better-made, human-created works, and secondly to make the resistance to it more invisible, to normalize the acceptance. If they mark human works as AI it would look as if no human artsts remain.
