a proper migration off of astrotwitter over here to #astrosphere/#astrosky will do the astrology community a ton of good, especially when it comes to platforming smaller accounts/creators and avoiding the engagement farm “pop astrology” turned into over there. happy to see more folks here :)

I'm appalled at the level of discourse happening on AstroTwitter in that for me, there is absolutely a red-line of threatening or executing material harm on a person through magic, hexes, you name it.

High-key hate that Substack is the main source of newsletters for AstroTwitter, yet they do shit like this. Any way we can all collectively switch to an alternative together?
The Substack app apparently push alert promoted a Nazi newsletter to several users. Users have complained about it on Substack Notes but the company hasn’t responded. Generally push alert promos are for content a user is likely to interact with

Where do amateur astronomers and people interested in astronomy hang out these days? Since astrotwitter died after the Musk take over, I have not figured what happened to all those people.

i got a book called The Copernican Revolution by Thomas Kuhn based on a recommendation from an astro-twitter friend way back when, and i did read some of it, and it was cool, but it's definitely the kind of book that's hard to finish unless you're totally obsessed
