Kodi’s #psychiatry fact of the day: thought stimulants are the most effective for ADHD symptoms, there are non-stimulant options including atomoxetine, clonidine, and guanfacine.

Next on the list is Amlopodine, a calcium channel blocker, used to treat high blood pressure.

And then we have ...

Atomoxetine. (386 80)

This is a drug for the treatment of ADHD.

If he's taking Atomoxetine, it's not working.

I would straight up be dead without antidepressants. I have severe treatment resistant depression. I am currently on Duloxetine and Atomoxetine, topiramate (dual duty prevents migraine), and gabapentin all prescribed off-label for depression. I still occasionally have suicidal ideation.
This headline is incredibly irresponsible - just the uncritical acceptance of this man's ignorance! - especially considering that partway through the piece, you run smack into this tidbit: "No major medical organizations were represented at the gathering."

SOMEONE PLEASE GET THIS GIRL SOME ATOMOXETINE
June 1, 2026 at 4:22 AM
Having to find YET ANOTHER doctor because Folx won't prescribe atomoxetine, a non-stimulant drug that is an SNRI and not a controlled substance, without seeing my ADHD diagnosis and treatment plan. Which I haven't got because it's prescribed off label for me for treatment resistant depression.

In other news, took my first atomoxetine dose today, hope things aren't too turbulent during adjustment period. My psychiatrist said the bupropion + venlafaxine + atomoxetine combo is going to be rough

Well, my loss is your gain #MedSky: avoid SNRIs like atomoxetine in pts w/comorbid #POTS + #ADHD. While atomoxetine (Straterra) is presented as a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, it affects serotonin & norepi receptors & may worsen #POTS. 🧪

I can’t tell if my short fuse and irritability are from my ADHD meds, cause my mama died or a combination of both.

My doctor tells me after the fact, yeah…atomoxetine can cause agitation in people with bipolar. You didn’t want to mention that ahead of time???

I gotta try this Vyvanse shit, the atomoxetine (Strattera) just isn’t cutting it
does time feel like its passing more slowly bc ive been feeling deeply miserable about bottom dysphoria lately or is the vyvanse actually helping me experience time like a regular person

Going to be trying an ADHD medication (atomoxetine/straterra) along with my other meds. Here's hoping it'll finally help with calming down my mind and allowing me to focus properly.

My patients get aripiprazole, seroquel, lurasidone, depakote, desvenlafaxine, atomoxetine from cost plus. It’s cheaper than their insurance.

dont know if this pain in my chest is from the stress of today, heartburn, or my atomoxetine

I'm on an SSNRI (duloxetine), an SNRI (atomoxetine) and also for my sins the ACE inhibitor lisinopril. This can be a dangerous combination - one of the body's adaptations to heat is to limit the salt it loses in sweat and lisinopril nukes the hormone that does that, so you lose max salt.
