A1: To me Autistic pride is a direct counter to the shame that gets taught (both intentionally and not) when the ways we're disabled and the ways we're odd get treated as wrong.

It’s pretty silly. Those are two different jobs!!!! For some advanced subjects, it’s necessary for teachers to be expert scholars. But certainly not for all subjects, & especially not at the undergrad level. Uncouple these skills & let people do what they prefer! #AutChat #AcademicSky
Since I am a trained teacher, I do find the academic model of the university fascinating in that it trains expert scholars primarily, expert teachers as a distant second.
