”autoloans are going to be the next mbs” — people have been saying this for ten years but nothing has really materialized

'speaking of legislators - we'll also work with them to find creative ways to decimate mile per gallon efficiency gains with massive and deadlier SUVs that overtime will also become increasingly expensive. like us, we know you'll love your huge autoloans!'

mark my words, autoloans are absolutely going to be the next subprime crisis. that's where shit is going to fall apart.
One thing I'm starting to wonder is whether auto loans are in fact the next subprime crisis:

"Americans owe $1.68 trillion on car loans — more than credit card debt and as much as all federal student loans"

The average American car payment is now $680 a month — and millions can't keep up | Fortune
Car prices are up, monthly auto loan payment amounts are soaring, and delinquencies are rising. How America's car dependency became a debt trap.

Also, I think we are in the wild swings before a total collapse.

Food, housing, autoloans, shipping, importing, exporting, labor markets etc. Is there anything that looks positive?

Only if you have a shit ton of money already..

Refinancing your auto loan, when it's worth it:
Your credit's improved since the original loan.
You're not underwater on the car.
Compare total interest, not just the payment.
Worth a quote this week if your credit's better now.

"The stress is worst exactly where used-car lots live: subprime delinquencies sit at a three-decade high, and 32% of used-vehicle loans already run longer than six years, up from 29%."

Who is foolish enough to buy or lease a new car? I only buy used luxury European cars and have never had a bad experience. I also don't like autoloans. Save up, buy a used car that has been maintained well (one owner, no accidents, get the Car Fax) cash.

Why it’s becoming so expensive to buy a car in America
Prices are at new highs. Buyers are older. More loans are going bad. It’s not an easy time to afford a car in America.

based on the number of vehicles in the list and autoloans starting at net45, probably dug himself that hole in about six months

I would happily approve of a policy that forgave all subprime autoloans at the cost of the corrupt and greedy dealership owners of the world and the equally corrupt financial CEOs that benefit from these bad loans
