i replaced my 4yo phone bc i broke my screen for the first time in my life like a loser
grapheneos isn't it for it yet so it downloaded all the play store apps
but on my other phone i have autoupdates off so I now i'm using new versions of the apps
and the new versions of the apps are all Worse

I've let the Valheim server run for a few days, just to see if it's stable. And it seems to be doing well. It autoupdates every morning, and every connection gets reapplied. I think it's good to actually host players now.

glad my phone chose to update Bsky even though I specifically turned off autoupdates to avoid the dumb photo carousel. love that the swiping doesn't even work well and pulls open the side menu even if it shows I am pressed on an image.

Ok! I have started to suspect that launching from the shortcut will bypass the settings and will start the updating despite autoupdates being off. But I can't test right now because I don't want to update 🫠😆

It would be really nice if Windows would respect the fact that I have autoupdates turned off, but it would be extra nice if the updates it forces didn't break all my device drivers *every* time.

Reminder, even if you uninstall it, your pc will just reinstall it. You cant disable autoupdates cause windows 11 is a really shitty OS

genuinely published something using ClickOnce last month it was just the simplest way for me (it handled autoupdates for me so it was useful for that one task)
