I kept an eye on the sales figures, and my Angry People in Local Newspapers book sold more than the Liz Truss autobiog.

hey new followers! I wrote a gay memoir about death, violence, murder, and horror movies (and family struggles, coming of age, etc) that some cool and trustworthy people wrote nice things about! I'd be honored if you picked up a copy, and maybe even left a review somewhere!

Bob's Crying with Laughter autobiog, for anyone who somehow hasn't read it yet, is one of the greatest ever written.

In the slightly disappointing new city library, flicked through his autobiog, and my stars, it really is a few hundred pages of 'needless to say I had the last laugh'.
From March 1960: poor old Terry-Thomas had his gasper-clasper nicked by a local scally

Finally got round to reading Peggy Seeger's autobiog which I've had for months. On p211 she reports that during the Cold War when the form asked 'are you entering the US for the purpose of overthrowing democratic govt?' Gilbert Harding wrote 'sole purpose of visit'. He was detained for some hours.

Started reading that Cat Stevens autobiog and I was this day old when I discovered that this is where he borrowed I Love My Dog from.

Some of my favourite quotes from Clarissa Dickson Wright's autobiog Spilling the Beans:
'The Marquess of Waterford had a tattoo of a hunt in full cry down his back with the fox’s brush disappearing down his bottom cleft.'

At a 2nd hand bookshop today I asked if they had Rhys' autobiog. The 1st person said they thought they'd seen it but we didn't find it, the 2nd said no, but her husband worked with Rhys on some NZ/AOA adverts & that not only was he a genuinely lovely person But nailed the shot 1st go every time.

Boxing Day puzzle for you. I'm reading the autobiog of former Jaguar designer Keith Helfet. This pic of the XK180 styling model in the studio at Abbey Panels in Coventry caught my eye, not for the Jag but because of the mystery package drawing behind it. Anyone know what it was?

Morning Guy, morning all ☕️
A dry, dull, day to do nothing very much. Got around to doing some wardrobe tidying and identifying things for the charity shop y’day. Not too many, which is pleasing if it means I’m buying smarter.
Finished watching The Residence. Liked it. Reading Cat Stevens’ autobiog

I'm reading Roland Orzabal's autobiog and yeah there's going to be some baffled fans waking up to it on Christmas day this year. Every chapter he bookends with rambles about astrology and amateur theology and fair enough, his book, do what he likes, but it's not what many would want to read from him

ACTUALLY

Now you say that, it might explain everything. bc publishers absolutely used to pay six figures for a politician's autobiog purely bc they knew they could sell the serial rights for more. The print book was a loss leader to get newspaper money. Maybe that's what was going on.

Christ this is so fucking stupid. You can't even have these topics as *content* according to these guidelines. If someone made an autobiog game about their actual horrific experiences it could well be blasted because of the dipshit payment networks

Finished Tina today (a bit meh; I think I need to read her mid-'80s autobiog for a bit more depth), and this has arrived in time to start tomorrow. Meant to be a good one.

Loved that bit in the intro of Monkhouse's autobiog where he said something like 'I'll be as truthful as I can be about myself, but will be more sparing about other people, which I'm sure they'll appreciate, as will their lawyers'.

Katharine Hepburns' autobiog so far:
'Though mother and father were well off, they were ahead of their time in fighting for people's rights'
vs
'We summered on Long Island with good Republicans and when the yacht club burned down everyone was jolly happy as it brought poor people to the community'
