AWS B2B Data Interchange introduces custom validation rules
AWS B2B Data Interchange now supports custom validation rules for X12 EDI documents, enabling you to expand and alter the validation logic of the X12 ANSI standard to align with custom agreements with your trading partners. AWS B2B Data Interchange automates validation, transformation, and generation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) documents such as ANSI X12 documents to and from JSON and XML data formats. With this launch, you can expand and alter the validation logic of the X12 ANSI standard. You can choose if certain elements need to be present and what length and values of elements are allowed for documents to pass the validation. AWS B2B Data Interchange will automatically validate X12 EDI documents against a combination of the X12 standard and your custom rules. Validation status will be communicated in a generated functional acknowledgment X12 EDI document (997/999) and in an emitted EventBridge event. In case of validation failure, AWS B2B Data Interchange will also generate a human-readable plain language explanation of validation errors and store it alongside your output files. You can use these events and data to trigger and streamline your validation remediation workflow, reducing the time and costs to process your X12 documents. Support for custom validation rules for X12 EDI documents is available in all AWS Regions where the AWS B2B Data Interchange service is available. AWS B2B Data Interchange introduces new configuration capabilities for generated EDI documents
AWS B2B Data Interchange now offers enhanced configurability for outbound X12 EDI documents. Newly introduced configurations allow you to customize format and technical fields contents of generated EDI documents to ensure compatibility with your trading partners' requirements and minimize rejection risks. AWS B2B Data Interchange automates validation, transformation and generation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) documents such as ANSI X12 documents to and from JSON and XML data formats. This update enables customers to configure date and time formats, new line character usage, starting control numbers, and acknowledgement documents generation. All configurations are set at the Partnership level, ensuring all EDI documents generated for a specific trading partner consistently meet their requirements. For example, if a trading partner requires all inbound EDI documents to be formatted as a single text line, customers can configure AWS B2B Data Interchange to omit new line characters in all X12 EDI documents generated for that partner. AWS B2B Data Interchange introduces splitting of inbound EDI documents
AWS B2B Data Interchange now supports splitting of inbound X12 EDI documents that contain multiple transactions into individually processed single-transaction documents. Splitting increases the maximum supported file size for multi-transaction EDI documents from 150MB to 5GB and enables independent processing of each transaction, even when trading partners send them batched in a single EDI file. AWS B2B Data Interchange automates validation, transformation and generation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) documents such as ANSI X12 documents to and from JSON and XML data formats. With this launch, you can split incoming multi-transaction X12 documents up to 5GB in size. Each resulting single-transaction document is independently validated and processed, emitting its own set of logs and Amazon EventBridge events, which enables individual post-processing and downstream business-system ingestions. For example, you can use the “Transformation Completed” events to trigger AWS Glue ETL jobs to automatically ingest valid transactions into your purpose-built data lake, while using the “Transformation Failed” events to notify your trading partner of issues with individual transactions of their EDI document. Support for splitting inbound X12 EDI documents is available in all AWS Regions where the AWS B2B Data Interchange service is available. AWS B2B Data Interchange introduces generative AI-assisted EDI mappings
AWS B2B Data Interchange now enables you to generate electronic data interchange (EDI) mapping code using generative AI. This new capability expedites the process of writing and testing bi-directional EDI mappings, reducing the time, effort, and costs associated with migrating your EDI workloads to AWS. AWS B2B Data Interchange is a fully managed service that automates the transformation of business-critical EDI transactions at scale, with elasticity and pay-as-you-go pricing. With AWS B2B Data Interchange’s new generative AI-assisted mapping capability, you can leverage your existing EDI documents and transactional data stored in your Amazon S3 buckets to generate mapping code using https://aws.amazon.com/bedrock/. Once the mapping code is generated, it is managed within AWS B2B Data Interchange where it is used to automatically transform new EDI documents to and from custom data representations. Previously, you were required to write and test each EDI mapping manually, which was a time-consuming and difficult process that required niche EDI specialization. AWS B2B Data Interchange’s new generative AI-assisted mapping capability increases developer productivity and reduces the technical expertise required to develop mapping code, so you can shift resources back to the valued-added initiatives that drive meaningful business impact.
