🆕 AWS now lets you assign colors to accounts in the Management Console for easy identification. Admins can set colors like red for production, visible in the navigation bar to all authorized users, simplifying account management across multiple accounts.

#AWS #AwsManagementConsole
AWS Management Console now supports assigning a color to an AWS account for easier identification
Today, AWS announces the general availability of account color settings in AWS Management Console across all Public Regions. AWS customers now have an easy way to identify their accounts at a glance. Using the account color setting, account admins can assign a color to their AWS account (such as red for production accounts or yellow for testing accounts) that appears in the Console's navigation bar for all authorized users in that account, enabling quick visual identification of different accounts. AWS customers manage multiple accounts to separate their workloads, such as maintaining distinct accounts for development and production environments or for different business units. Previously, users had to rely on account numbers to identify accounts. With this new feature, users with admin privileges can assign colors to AWS accounts, enabling all authorized users to quickly identify the account they want to operate on through the colored navigation bar. When signing in to the AWS Console, users see a default grey color in the navigation bar. Users with admin privileges can change this color through the 'Account' option in the navigation bar's account menu, on the top right of the page. Once the color is set, all users with proper permissions can see it. To view the account color, users need to be assigned permissions using the AWS managed policy AWSManagementConsoleBasicUserAccess or the custom permission uxc:getaccountcolor. To learn more about account colors, click here. To get started with setting account color, click here.

🆕 The AWS Management Console now supports simultaneous sign-in for multiple AWS accounts

#AWS #AwsManagementConsole
The AWS Management Console now supports simultaneous sign-in for multiple AWS accounts
Today, AWS announces multi-sesssion support which enables customers to access multiple AWS accounts in the AWS Console. Customers can sign-in to up to 5 sessions in a single browser, and this can be any combination of root, IAM, or federated roles in different accounts or in the same account. Customer applications scale multiple accounts following AWS best-practice guidelines. They often use accounts for different environments such as development, testing, production, and compare resource configurations and statuses across multiple accounts for troubleshooting application issues and other application related jobs. Before this launch, the AWS Console supported one account sign-in at a time, and customers used mechanism such as signing-in accounts in different browsers or installing third-party browser plugins to access multiple accounts in different browsers. Using multi-session capability in the AWS Console, customers can sign-in to their different AWS accounts and manage their resources in a single browser. Multi-session support is available in Commercial Regions. Try it today by signing in to the AWS Console, selecting the account menu, and selecting “Turn on multi-session”. You can opt out at any time from the account menu. Visit AWS Console documentation to learn more.

🆕 AWS Billing now has a Detected Anomalies widget for cost monitoring, showing anomalies' impact and root cause, with no extra charge in all commercial regions.

#AWS #AwsManagementConsole #CloudFinancialManagement
Monitor cost anomalies directly in Billing and Cost Management Dashboards with the new Detected Anomalies widget
Today, AWS Billing and Cost Management (BCM) announces support for the Detected Anomalies widget in BCM Dashboards. You can now review cost anomalies alongside cost and usage, budgets, cost efficiency, and reports for Savings Plans and Reserved Instance coverage and utilization. This provides a unified view of your spending, commitments, and cost anomalies in a single, tailored dashboard. The Detected Anomalies widget displays the number of anomalies detected and their total cost impact relative to your month-to-date spend, giving you immediate context on each anomaly's scale. For each anomaly, you can review the cost impact, root cause, and duration. Choose a look-back period of 30, 60, or 90 days, and filter by severity, service, account, and region so that each dashboard shows the anomalies most relevant to that account. By adding one or more Detected Anomalies widget to a BCM Dashboard, finance teams and cloud administrators can monitor anomalies from their existing cost management workflows. The widget links directly to the AWS Cost Anomaly Detection console so you can easily investigate an anomaly and record your assessment. It is fully integrated with dashboard exports and can be included in scheduled email reports or downloaded as a CSV or PDF for offline analysis. It is also included with cross-account dashboard sharing. The Detected Anomalies widget for BCM Dashboards is available in all commercial AWS Regions at no additional charge. AWS Console Mobile App adds interactive graphs, AI log ssummaries, and natural language logs search to CloudWatch Alarms
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is announcing new CloudWatch Alarms capabilities in the AWS Console Mobile Application. You can now investigate alarms and move from notification to root cause faster with interactive graphs, AI-generated logs summaries, natural language logs search, and streamlined access to related metrics and resources. When a CloudWatch Alarm triggers, engineers often need to quickly understand what went wrong. Previously, investigating an alarm on the mobile app required switching between multiple screens and services to view metrics, access logs, and identify the root cause. This update brings these capabilities together in a single view, reducing the time from notification to resolution. CloudWatch Alarms now include interactive graphs that let you visualize the metric that triggered the alarm, zoom in on specific time windows, and explore the data to quickly identify anomalies. You can access related logs and review an AI-generated summary that highlights key contributing factors. To refine log search results, you can type queries, use voice input, or select pre-saved Logs Insights queries using natural language. A time selector lets you view custom time ranges and adjust time zones to match your operational needs. Related metrics and resources are conveniently displayed alongside the alarm, facilitating a more thorough investigation. To get started, download the AWS Console Mobile App from the https://apps.apple.com/us/app/aws-console/id580990573 or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.aws.console.mobile, then navigate to CloudWatch in the app to investigate Alarms. AWS Management Console Private Access now works without internet connectivity
AWS Management Console Private Access now enables customers to access the AWS Console from VPCs without internet connectivity, allowing enterprises to manage their AWS infrastructure through the console while maintaining strict network security controls in air-gapped environments. Previously, AWS Management Console Private Access allowed customers to restrict console access to authorized AWS accounts and corporate networks but still required internet connectivity. With this launch, AWS Console traffic can flow through VPC endpoints for the supported service consoles, eliminating the need for any internet access. This capability is particularly valuable for customers in regulated industries such as financial services, government and defense, and healthcare, and for enterprises with strict security requirements who need to access sensitive data only from controlled environments and use the console in classified or networks without internet connectivity. AWS Management Console Private Access uses AWS PrivateLink to establish secure network paths between customer VPCs and the console. Customers can apply VPC endpoint policies to restrict access to specific AWS accounts and organizations, and use IAM, Service Control, and Resource Control policies to require that employees access resources only from authorized networks. This capability is available in all AWS commercial regions. You pay only for the underlying AWS PrivateLink VPC endpoint usage and data processing. To get started and learn about the supported services, visit the https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awsconsolehelpdocs/latest/gsg/console-private-access.html.
