Amazon Route 53 Resolver is now generally available on second-generation AWS Outposts racks
Amazon Route 53 Resolver is now generally available on second-generation AWS Outposts, providing local, managed recursive DNS resolution directly on your Outpost. DNS queries from workloads running on your Outpost are resolved locally, reducing latency and eliminating the need to traverse the Service Link to reach the parent AWS Region. Route 53 Resolver maintains cached DNS records during Service Link disconnections, ensuring continuous DNS resolution even during connectivity interruptions. Route 53 Resolver runs entirely on AWS-managed infrastructure built into every second-generation Outpost, eliminating the need for customer compute capacity. Route 53 Resolver is enabled by default on multi-rack second-generation Outposts. Customers who prefer to manage their own DNS resolution can opt out at any time by contacting AWS Support. Route 53 Resolver on second-generation Outposts is available in all AWS Regions where second-generation Outposts are supported. All customers, including current preview customers, receive a 91-day free trial through December 21, 2026. Starting December 22, 2026, the service is priced at $0.65 per Outpost rack per hour. To get started, see the Route 53 Resolver on Outposts documentation. For pricing details, see Amazon Route 53 pricing.

🆕 AWS Outposts now supports Dell PowerStore and HPE Alletra storage for EC2 instances, extending hybrid cloud with enterprise storage arrays at no extra cost, simplifying setup via AWS automation scripts.

#AWS #AmazonEc2 #AwsOutposts #AwsGovcloudUs
AWS Outposts now supports external block volumes from Dell and HPE storage arrays
Starting today, customers can use boot and data volumes backed by Dell PowerStore and HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 storage arrays with Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances on AWS Outposts, including authenticated and encrypted volumes. This enhancement extends our existing support for boot and data volumes to include Dell and HPE storage arrays, alongside our current support for NetApp® on-premises enterprise storage arrays and Pure Storage® FlashArray™. Outposts is a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, AWS services, APIs, and tools to virtually any on-premises or edge location for a truly consistent hybrid experience. With Outposts, customers can maximize the value of their on-premises storage investments by leveraging their existing enterprise storage arrays for both boot and data volumes, complementing managed Amazon EBS and Local Instance Store options. This provides significant operational benefits, including streamlined operating system (OS) management via centralized boot volumes and advanced data management features through high-performance data volumes. By integrating their own storage, organizations can also satisfy data residency requirements and benefit from a consistent cloud operational model for their hybrid environments. To simplify the process, AWS offers automation scripts through AWS Samples to help customers easily set up and use external block volumes with EC2 instances on Outposts. Customers can use the AWS Management Console or CLI to utilize third-party block volumes with EC2 instances on Outposts. Third-party storage integration for Outposts with all compatible storage vendors is available on Outposts 2U servers and Outposts racks at no additional charge in all AWS Regions where Outposts is supported. See the FAQs for Outposts servers and Outposts racks for the latest list of supported Regions. To learn more about implementation details and best practices, check out this blog post or visit our technical documentation for Outposts servers, second-generation Outposts racks, and first-generation Outposts racks.

See the FAQs for https://aws.amazon.com/outposts/servers/faqs/?nc=sn&loc=4 and https://aws.amazon.com/outposts/rack/faqs/ for the latest list of supported Regions. Second-generation AWS Outposts racks now supported in the AWS Canada (Central) and US West (N. California) Regions
Second-generation AWS Outposts racks are now supported in the AWS Canada (Central) and US West (N. California) Regions. Outposts racks extend AWS infrastructure, AWS services, APIs, and tools to virtually any on-premises data center or colocation space for a truly consistent hybrid experience. Organizations from startups to enterprises and the public sector in and outside of Canada and the US can now order their Outposts racks connected to these two new supported Regions, optimizing for their latency and data residency needs. Outposts allows customers to run workloads that need low-latency access to on-premises systems locally while connecting back to their home Region for application management. Customers can also use Outposts and AWS services to manage and process data that needs to remain on-premises to meet data residency requirements. This regional expansion provides additional flexibility in the AWS Regions that customers’ Outposts can connect to. To learn more about second-generation Outposts racks, read https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/announcing-second-generation-aws-outposts-racks-with-breakthrough-performance-and-scalability-on-premises/ and https://docs.aws.amazon.com/outposts/latest/network-userguide/what-is-outposts.html. For the most updated list of countries and territories and the AWS Regions where second-generation Outposts racks are supported, check out the https://aws.amazon.com/outposts/rack/faqs/.

AWS Outposts 2U server is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions
AWS Outposts 2U server is now supported in the AWS GovCloud (US-East) and AWS GovCloud (US-West) Regions. Outposts 2U server is a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, AWS services, APIs, and tools to on-premises or edge locations with limited space or smaller capacity requirements for a truly consistent hybrid experience. It is delivered in an industry-standard 2U form factor and provides up to 128 vCPUs of compute. It is ideal for applications that need to run on-premises to meet low latency and stringent compliance requirements. You can also use Outposts 2U server to manage your local data processing needs. With the availability of Outposts 2U server in the GovCloud (US-East) and GovCloud (US-West) Regions, you can now run Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), and AWS IoT Greengrass locally on Outposts 2U servers, and connect to a broader range of AWS services available in the parent AWS GovCloud (US) Region. For AWS GovCloud (US) Regions customers, this means you can run sensitive and controlled unclassified information (CUI) data on-premises at your facilities and connect to the parent AWS GovCloud (US) Region for management and operations. To learn more about Outposts 2U server, visit the https://aws.amazon.com/outposts/servers/ and read the https://docs.aws.amazon.com/outposts/latest/server-userguide/what-is-outposts.html.
