Et Béchamp a aussi inventé le microscope électronique ?

I say we call it the Béchamp Awards (after the germ theory denialist Antoine Béchamp), for when Good Science gets misunderstood by Overconfident People to the detriment of others.

ok so for my sins i found the book and read the chapter, and it features a specious anecdote about louis pasteur confessing on his deathbed that germ theory was wrong all along. it's sourced from a book called "virus mania."

It’s called Béchamp-ism, named after an unscientific crank who was a contemporary of Louis Pasteur.

Here's the controversy between Antoine Béchamp & Pasteur, not vaccines, also controversial for Darwinists who insist origins of life are #distant & unknown.

What Béchamp missed was the role of magnetic eddy density & flux which wasn't discovered until Wilhelm Reich 50+ years later.

Terrain theory is 100% germ theory denialism (theory in the scientific sense, not in the colloquial).

For a top level overview, this Popular Science article is pretty good, though they give more credit to Bechamp than the dolt deserves.

Modern supporters of Béchamp's terrain theory have built a pseudoscience movement against Pasteur's germ theory, COVID, and vaccines.

May 2, 2025 at 12:13 PM

Oh, absolutely. With a side of victim blaming, because you wouldn’t have gotten sick/gotten a demon if you were truly virtuous.

Antoine Bechamp, the father of terrain, was a nasty, jealous piece of work, and it shows.

Béchamp is generally the one touted as Pasteur's adversary and the "father" of terrain theory, so probably him.

I really do need to get a t-shirt with "Pasteur rules, Bechamp drools" on it, don't I?
November 28, 2024 at 2:14 PM
RFKjr believes in the "terrain theory" of Bechamp rather than germ theory (Pasteur / Koch).

Meaning: germs don't make you sick, they only attack you when you are already sick.

If that isn't crazy enough, Gladwell claims that Woody Harrelson convinced him of this.

When we have believers of Béchamp making decisions, this is what we get. It then extends past microbes into other forms of disease. Healthy people can get sick, and, even if it were only those who were already dealing a multitude of issues (many not under their control), should we not help them?
The fallacy posed by the MAHAers is that if you eat healthy you are not going to be afflicted by diseases such as cancer. This is not just statistically stupid but it’s also cruel. Imagine telling the parent of a young child with cancer that you should have eaten more veggies. 1/

2/ What is Terrain Theory?
Championed by Antoine Béchamp, Terrain Theory suggests that disease arises when the body’s internal environment (or “terrain”) is unbalanced or weak, making it susceptible to illness.
