ようやく半藤一利の『昭和史 1926-1945』を読み終えたんだけど、語りおろしということもあって読みやすく、面白くて、教養というか、日本の近現代史を知る上で重要なので一読をオススメしたい本。日本が敗戦した理由が痛いほどわかるし、戦後の高度経済成長期やバブル崩壊、会社などの組織にみられる日本的なるものの理解も深まったと思う。無鉄砲な帝国主義の幻想に学び、平和な世の中を作っていきたいものです。

Obviously the people making a stink about the B65 bus and open streets aren't concerned about sidewalk access or blocked bus stops. A lot of people's "accessibility" concerns only go so far as "Can I access a parking spot in front of my house and every destination in the city?"
Is this same group up in arms about Ideal deliveries constantly blocking the bus lane? @fdny.bsky.social personal cars obstructing the sidewalk on St John’s? Uhauls parked in crosswalk? etc

Anyone who has actually taken the B65 would understand that moving the route off the 6th Ave / Flatbush cluster where it often gets stuck for several light cycles will be a boon to bus riders.

It's also important to bring facts to the table, not that I'd expect The Post to do that. We don't have a design for the Bike Blvd., but the Bus Network Redesign for the B65 doesn't move the route from in front of Betty Davis' house. The Nazi comparison lady is making up things to complain about.

...I should say that the bus re-design is not about favoring bikes, its about speeding up bus travel times. The B65 is one of the worst busses in Brooklyn. It does not need to stop on literally every single block.

I ride the B65 almost every day. The seniors and disabled people who depend on it are failed by its current service and would greatly benefit from parking removal, but that’s not what these “advocates“ actually want.
