Yesterday, I walked and participated in the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center Walk For Change; hundreds of local residents turned out to raise funds to support the free services BARCC continues to provide for thousands of survivors, their families, loved ones, and community members. 💜🧡

My mother was the type of women who would make origami frogs with crying children in airports.
She helped found BARCC (rape crisis center in Boston).
She wore a star spangled sequined corset on her 40th birthday.

BARCC had a gala, and I went with her. In the picture slide show they have one of her at a podium, with a buzzed head, and a cigarette hanging out of her mouth from the 1970's. She looks so bored and awesome.
