Huh. A few years ago we pulled out the bathtub in our master bath and put in a tub/shower. We had been here 25 years and nobody had ever taken a bath in it. Now it's the primary, and I wish I had actually gone with a straight full shower, someday I'm going to be unable to step over that tub edge.

It's increasingly rare to find a bathtub in any but the most posh hotels, where you get a separate shower and bathtub. I have to assume it's easier for cleaning or maintenance somehow? Does anyone know? And I'm told that "people" don't like the combo and complain about it. Bah.

But you just know that when they renovate this room, they're going to take that bathtub/shower combo out and put a shower stall in. And it's probably going to have a "rain" style overhead showerhead, which will have zero water pressure and make it impossible to properly rinse your hair.

Our hotel in Vancouver has a sign by the elevator with pictures of the room renovations in progress. But I'm really glad we have an unrenovated room. Why? Bathtub. I love a bathtub. We haven't even been here 48 hours yet, and I've taken 3 baths.
