Raising the flags is passive resistance to failure of government.

Apparently.

Reform is (predictably) learning what all parties learn.

Central decisions - in this case Lancashire County Council looking to close care homes - will face opposition from their own local members.

Reform - Green - Labour

It's weird to imagine Reform's printer managing to crop the legally required party information off a letter to Gorton and Denton constituents.

Was it the same printer who did it in Caerfilli?

And Sarah Pochin says the printer sent the letters out. Using the full electoral roll.

just watching Councillor Gina Dowding take apart Reform UK and Labour on #bbcpnw though they do a good job of taking themselves down

Reform UK are using this prospectus across the board - the voters of Clacton can overrule whatever investigation there is.

When neither Labour, nor Conservative, nor media bod seems to know that the Sunak government released 10,083 prisoners early between October 2023 and July 2024. . . and people from all those three camps sometimes wonder behind closed doors why we voters are not better informed. . .

Dan Barker claims that Reform UK Party Ltd campaigned in July 2024 to take water into public ownership.

I can't find any such line, though they have started moving that way since.

The real Nick Buckley (on the right) is campaigning on yet another public inquiry into grooming gangs.

The Tory on #bbcpnw, as many others do, equates Reeves' £22bn for this year with the £22bn allocated for carbon capture over 25 years. He also claims that "even freedom of information" hasn't told us what the first sum is, despite the treasury telling us.

And nobody questions him.
1. Details of the £22bn in-year unfunded commitments for 2024-25

2. The OBR's letter acknowledging that they only became "aware of the extent of these pressures" after the election, and announcing a review of how this happened

Sarah Pochin (Reform UK Party Ltd): Our children - white Briitsh girls - are being raped by Pakistani misogynistic men.

"Our children" - the abuse girls (and boys) face in their families, in fostering, wherever. . .

It must not be reduced to racism.

Dr Sarah Longlands, Chief Executive, Centre for Local Economic Strategies: if you had kept local services funding at the same level as it was in 2009-10 that would have resulted in £43bn extra for the economy every year since.

I sometimes hear a claim that Labour promised last July not to increase council tax.

1. There's nothing on that in the manifesto
2. How could they possibly say that?

From the context I know what he means - a new ministerial code - but they just can't stop shooting themselves in the foot.
