Emulating 4U would be my recommendation. Still feels classic but with enough QoL to not be super off putting.
World is also easy to get into. The investigation stuff is annoying but for a first play thru not too bad. And it plus iceborne is $10 right now.

Gore is an intense fight. I remember my fight with him in 4U. Just such an overwhelming monster. I love his design with his black and purple/blue colors

I played everything that was out on release and went "well that was certainly a video game" and am now doing all the title update stuff and am just having a good time. I'll be a 4U/XX truther forever but yknow what since I let myself relax I've had a lot of fun with Rise and Wilds both

only issue with that is how SAEDs are pretty severely nerfed in GU so im not sure how effective it will be in that specific game. In 4U though Water CB SAEDs helped decimate Gravios. Plus you would need to play Valor so that SAED doesn't consume shield.
