BESCOM has issued electrical-safety instructions for public Ganesha festival pandals and idol-immersion procession routes in its jurisdiction. Organisers must obtain the required NOCs from relevant authorities before applying for temporary electricity connections. The concerned BESCOM Assistant Executive Engineer must inspect the pandal site and confirm that it is safe before issuing the electricity-connection NOC. Wiring must comply with Central Electricity Authority safety guidelines, and an earth-leakage circuit breaker must be installed before electricity is supplied. BESCOM field personnel have been directed to inspect power lines along immersion routes and immediately repair loose or sagging lines. Transformers, RMUs, LT distribution boxes and other electrical equipment near procession routes should be visibly identified as danger zones. Applications are to be processed through the single-window system within 24 hours, subject to applicable guidelines and law, but this does not mean automatic approval. Bengaluru North City Corporation has separately announced plans for single-window centres at respective police stations and round-the-clock departmental coordination.
