I JUST SAW SIRAT AND no words. One of the best of the year.

It's Wages of Fear without the contrived premise, Hamnet without the comfort of historical distance, The Road Warrior only the punks rockers are the good guys.

Tonight, I'm watching 'CAPTAIN BATTLE: LEGACY WAR' on tubi. I PROMISE this isn't a porn parody of Captain America, but the trailer doesn't really prove it. Sounds like a fun time to me. 😎

My thoughts on Timothee Chalamet's pingpong epic:

"Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme takes its cue from its central character: brassy, loud, unrelentingly annoying"

Last week I wrote about one of the worst films ever on Joan of Arc; this week I write on the best: Carl Theodor Dreyer's 1928 La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc (The Passion of Joan of Arc)

If you're a fan of trashy cult movies with tons of gratuitous violence and nudity (and who isn't), the 'grindhouse' throwback flick 'BRIDES OF SATAN' (2020) is free (UNCUT) on YouTube, for your viewing pleasure. 💀

From 26 years ago-- my thoughts on Luc Besson's Joan of Arc epic:

Carl Dreyer’s Jeanne d’Arc is one of the greatest, Luc Besson’s 1999 Joan of Arc one of the silliest

Wouldn't condemn Emerald Fennell's "Wuthering Heights" for taking liberties with Emily Bronte, but would condemn the film for making such weak tea out of her novel.

Paalam Robert Duvall (1932-2026)

"Lorie darlin...the only healthy way to live life is to learn to like all the little everyday things like a sip of good whiskey in the evening a soft bed a glass of buttermilk or a feisty gentleman like myself."
