Happy birthday Baldur's Gate 3!

A few words and some VP that is relevant to this day for one reason or another. 🤭
Anyway, time to continue not touching grass.

Without BG3 and its fandom I wouldn't have had an Ao3 account. I wouldn't have found my writing again, AND posted it. I wouldn't have created Darius, and I wouldn't have made. So. Many. Amazing. Friends! from all over the world.❤️

I'm having so much fun and don't intend to stop.
Love ya!

#BG3Turns3 - Volo writes a bad poem about your OC

I did travel with a hopeless spellcaster,
Whose magic oft tended toward disaster.
A Netherbrain she slew,
Yet this much is true:
She'll never be a great Weave master.

NPC.

Always Rolan 💜 I love him, I see myself in him in many ways but most of all I grew up raising my sister & am wildly protective of her, so seeing Rolan willing to protect Cal & Lia at all costs, to give them a better life, how could I not?

#bg3turns3 - Your favourite character realises they're in a video game

Cue: a very silly one shot (gender neutral reader insert): archiveofourown.org/works/89935216

Gale Dekarios is stood outside his tent looking toward the camera curiously. Ellipsus fic snippet by rdekarios. It reads: He scratches his beard a moment, his brilliant mind at work as he tries to suss out what fourth-wall breaking magic is at play. Which is, frankly, more than you feel able to do as you sit—pale-faced and palms sweating—staring at the screen. You’d only signed in for your habitual lunch break weave summoning. A quick little dose of dopamine to get you through a sluggish day. You hadn’t expected to be hit with a glitch that suggested… sentience. You might have lost the plot, actually.

Happy BG3 Anniversary!

I can't believe I've been in this fandom for almost 2 years now, and the game has been out even longer than that.

I can't believe I'm still here making friends and getting to nerd out over a 3 year old game 💖

A small note of thanks to the game, from me.

#bg3turns3 #bg3
Thank you to everybody involved in making the game - from the writers, programmers, artists, actors and the endless list of other people involved in bringing a game to life. You gave us rich characters, a great story, fun game play mechanics (that were not too hard for a total newb to pick up) and roleplay opportunities galore, all of which have brought my imagination back to life. I am learning virtual photography and 3D art thanks to this game. I'm learning to mod thanks to this game. I'm writing again thanks to this game. When I'm not writing, my imagination is going 1000 miles an hour thanks to this game. I have made some incredible friends thanks to this game. Long may the hyperfixation continue! While I arrived to the BG3 party later than some, it's had an incredible impact on the person I am today. That is something I will never be able to show enough gratitude for. 🫶

Too much work and family stuff to finish any projects right now *but* these have been really fun writing prompts the past couple of days.

Day 1: Tara appreciation

Day 2: Carl and Donut in Faerun

Happy anniversary to BG3 🦑🧙💜

#bg3 #dungeoncrawlercarl #bg3turns3 #bardfics
Tara pushed her head through the gap in the balcony door and nudged it open, squinting in the orange-pink light of early morning. She swished her tail, crouched, and lept onto the railing. With a few precise twitches of her wings, she balanced herself and tested the spot with a few stamps of her paws. She blinked slowly in the warmth of the still-rising summer sun, then dipped into a luxurious stretch (Mr. Dekarios was not awake yet and therefore not here to add “biiig stretch,” which always made it more satisfying). A little shiver traveled up and down her spine, from tail tip to toes; she wiggled her front toes, then dug her claws into the wood (on the other hand, Mr. Dekarios was also not here to bark at her to “stop scratching the daylights out of the tower, Tara!”). She finished the stretch with a fang-baring yawn and a little squeak. Suddenly, Donut stopped short and hissed. I stopped too and looked around, holding my fists an inch apart, ready to activate my gauntlets. “What? What is it?” Donut backed up a few steps, her back arched and hair poofed out. DONUT: THAT, CARL. IT’S AN ABOMINATION. A FREAK, CARL. IT’S LIKE IF A RAGAMUFFIN HAD SEX WITH ONE OF MORDECAI’S UGLY COUSINS. CARL: A…what? What’s a ragamuffin? DONUT: IT’S A BREED OF CAT, CARL. A MADE-UP, JOHNNY-COME-LATELY— CARL: Okay, okay, I get it. DONUT: HONESTLY, CARL. READ A BOOK. I sighed and rolled my eyes. “God dammit, Donut,” I said out loud. A few more moments of searching, and I found what she was talking about. A large cat with long fur in spots of black, tan, and white pawed at a glowing purple portal embedded in the rock face. Only, there was something different about this cat; it had wings.
