Lockerman created BKL Films and Keepers of the Earth LLC to bring the extraordinary story of British inventor John Roy Robert Searl to the screen. The documentary chronicles Searl's life and his controversial claims surrounding the Searl Effect Generator (SEG)—a magnetic device Searl maintained could produce energy and, under certain conditions, demonstrate extraordinary anti-gravity or “levity” effects. Lockerman had been investigating Searl's work since 1994, describing the inventor's account as one of the wildest stories he had ever encountered. According to Searl, ideas that eventually led to his technology began with recurring childhood dreams and later developed into experiments involving specially arranged magnetic rings and rollers.
