some doodles of obasi with her coat, though admittedly, as impressive as her style is, her coat is like a shadow that still cascades her…

obasi enjoying a cigar after a long day of work. she typically takes a smoke before she hunkers down for the night.

felt like doing some character pages of obasi to match the ones i did of her partner, noctis :]

obasi’s got a threatening appearance, though it’s far from a reflection of her true self…

i finally got the energy to work on some sketches while healing from my procedure. i finished these exploration sketches of obasi today :) despite obasi’s stoic, hard appearance, she’s got a soft interior. within, she’s got a gentle heart.

een drawing noctis quite a bit recently because she deserves some love (and hate. she sickens me), she's just so fun to draw and write >:D

warmup sketch. obasi and the shadow of her father, dubaku. she never chose to perpetuate this cycle, but it’s too late. it is her burden to bear.

a new reference of my big gorilla gal, obasi! she's been an oc i've had for so long and one that has gone through countless changes, but now more than ever she truly feels authentic!

some butch4butch musings between noctis and obasi :p

i wanted this piece to portray the distance between them, a special kind of connection.

while i draw a lot of pieces about obasi, noctis, and mitsue, i can’t forget the rest of the supporting cast of BITC! these four may not appear in the book as frequently but have important roles within the overall narrative.

some lighting practice i whipped up this morning, also wanted to nail that "dreary but powerful" aura that my girl obasi has. boy is she a mess.

i wanted to do a sketch of obasi when she was younger with her daughter, mitsue!

despite how macabre #BLADEINTHECITYSERIES truly is, their story is proof that hope lives even in the dark. writing them has really helped me work through some tough things!
