The closest thing to free money in the BLDC sphere is building this sort of thing out of motors that are less than 10 years old. They can share a stator core, but ideally you'd be using different KVs between them and matching the KV ratio to the application

작년에 사무실 자리 선풍기를 서큘레이션 기능있는 BLDC선풍기 리퍼제품으로 5만원 정도에 싸게 구입한 나를 칭찬한다
오늘같은날 출근해도 사무실에서 체온을 낮추려면 꽤걸리는데
역시 이 선풍기를 세게 트니 금방 냉각된다

I am thinking of using a BLDC motor out of a cordless drill to power a gauge 1 locomotive. I got a cheap motor controller from eBay to run it. See alt for a review… It works but it’s definitely a case of you get what you paid for!
Cheap bldc motor driver from eBay. The only “documentation” is the eBay listing itself. The signals at the various connectors are labeled on the bottom of the board, but the wiring does not match the schematic on the eBay pictures. Also one of the transistors was not soldered properly as can be seen in this picture… The bldc motor connected to the control board. The wires in the foreground are for the Hall sensors that track the rotor position, allowing for smooth starts and low speed operation.
