The BLS adjusts for this! I'm so tired of people complaining about suprisflation.
i know i’m old but as a kid growing up in the ‘90s, we usually got somewhere between 12 and 28 surprises inside a typical box of caylus vs. foltyn
Saw this on the shelf at Target and it’s like a portal to an utterly unknowable parallel world. As if i was peering into the dimension from Stalker

actually on topic of the BLs it’s funny to me when people try and theorise why the BLs have an extra boy and assume it’s Symbolic or something like no it’s just that the BLs are meant to appeal to people who like cute anime boys.

all the blue lion boys are otome game archetypes

When I talk to people about the ongoing impact of COVID, I find it helpful to lead with a concrete, undeniable indicator, which is that there are about 3,000,000 more disabled workers in the US than at pandemic onset.

Okay, BLS and Fred are divergent by a couple thousand annually.

Would $30,000 change your life any more or less?

Fact for today: Energy inflation in the US climbed to 20.4% in September, a result of the Iran war that started in March 2026. This has helped drive inflation to 3.7%.

Industry data do not show auto insurance prices falling sharply. I don't think BLS is cooking the books, but I think its methodology may have led them astray on this one
Please raise your hand if your car insurance has done this?
Trivia point on CPI: If not for a reported 5% drop in year-over-year car insurance prices, inflation for the last year would have been 3.9%

Shouldn’t be a surprise. Problem is they fired a quarter of the staff of BLS so we aren’t picking up stuff like this in real time.

We can confidently say the White House isn’t messing with the BLS

Hey maga, trump keeps telling you that “prices are coming down fast,” yet the BLS keeps putting out data telling us inflation is increasing. My question is, who’s lying, the BLS and your own eyes, or trump?

So per the BLS a pound of chicken breast went from $2.21 to $4.20 over this period

So they’re comparing 2 lbs of chicken breast in 2002 vs 5 lbs in 2026

Also that’s some pretty fancy coffee

The consumer price index (CPI) increased 0.6 percent last month and was up 3.7 percent relative to September 2025. That marked an increase from August, when annual inflation sat at 3.4 percent.

Bacterial leaf streak (BLS) is a threat to wheat production in the Northern Great Plains. To identify novel sources of BLS resistance, Subash Thapa et al. screened globally diverse bread wheat landraces and cultivars for BLS response: https://doi.org/10.1094/PDIS-05-25-1021-RE #PlantDisease

Yes, and still: can we really trust trump’s BLS numbers? What are the chances that inflation is not higher than they report? 🤔
