In this 5 by 4 Landscape format black and white image, the chicago skyline is visible on a clear afternoon with only traces of a few clouds. The temperature is clearly cold because steam moves sideways in a plume of what from the top of one of the skyscrapers. In the foreground is the wide S-shape og the BP pedestrian bridge going towards millenium park. On the right of the frame, trees from the park are visible as is part of the amphitheather structure--primarily the roof over the stage. The S-shaped brdige is made up of a 3-foot wall on the inside and a wooden slat floor, only partially visibile at the bottom of the frame. The outside is made up of reflective steel? squares on the surface of a sloping ramp following the countours of the curve--not unlike a skateboard park at a yet unimagined scale. The counters of the bridge alternative between light and shadow owing to the sun getting low on the horizon and being behind skyscrapers.

Another shot of Gehry's #BPPedestrianBridge that I thought I's share. This one felt better in color because of the clouds coming in, the man on the bridge & the geese on the grass.
Hope you enjoy it.

This 5 by 4 landscape image is of Gehry's BP Pedestrian Bridge crossing the highway next to Millenium Park. In the foreground are a gaggle of geese foraging around a small bare tree and a couple of bare bushes in the brown grass. Further is the winding S-shaped bridge with sloping sides covered in reflective metal tiles oriented much like subway tile in a kitchen. The brdige shows three distinct layers of the surface tiles as the bridge ascends. In the background are more bare trees and the skiline of Chicago, includig the roof of the amphitheatre in the park. Golden light is coming from the sun behind a skyscraper and bathing the left side and back of the skyscrapers in light. Two wisps of clouds forming to sides of a triangle are going their separate ways against the backdrop of the late afternoon blue sky. A singular bearded man desending the bridge stares at the geese below.
