Just tried out a version of GB Studio that exports .nes ROMs instead of .gb ROMs and it is very much put together with duct tape but it works!

I found something interesting that gives us another sign of Nintendo being against imports. In Computer Entertainer Volume 5 Number 11 from February 1987, Nintendo advised the publication that adapting Japanese Famicom cartridges to work on NES systems is "illegal" and will void your warranty.

Nintendo was developing a direct sequel to Famicom Grand Prix: F1 Race, an overhead racing game designed by Shigefumi Hino who joined Nintendo in 1989 and was his very first project at the company. In 1990, there's footage of a Nintendo F1 racing game that never made it to market.

I've started seeing some users claim that this prototype is "fake" or "fabricated" but these claims are based on the origin of the ROM rather than evidence within it to suggest that idea. There's plenty of evidence in the game that lean towards its legitimacy such as this debug screen.

I find it incredibly odd that this is how many people are finding out about the existence of the Famicom Box.
As a sidenote, this is basically the only notable product released in Japan to use the Nintendo Entertainment System branding, but it's still called a Famicom for some reason.

In Cosmic Epsilon for Famicom, entering the Konami code displayed the text "I AM NOT KONANI" but unused in the data was similar text "I AM NOT NANCO" but there was no known way to activate it... until today!
